Netori, which has been the slang word for cuckoldry, has been around for the longest time. Even though it sounds like a taboo subject, many still practice it, either willingly or unwillingly. If anything, research has found a plethora of benefits that come as a result of practicing Netori in a relationship.
And since curate’s egg hypothesis suggests that everything that has a good side also comes with a bad side; Netori comes with its fair share of disadvantages. But before we get into all of that, we must kick things off with the proper definition.

What’s the meaning of Netori?
As mentioned earlier, Netori is a slang word for the act of cuckolding someone. Netori can only happen with three individuals; two of which are already in a romantic relationship. In most cases, Netori often happens between a straight couple, preferably a younger, dominant woman and an older man and a younger man who isn’t part of their relationship.
The cuckold, who is unwilling to be cheated on is called Netorare while the one who is a willing participant is called a Netorase. Also, the cuckold might either be aware or unaware of the cheating.
What are examples of Netori?
First, I’ll use the example I just did earlier in the definition. A young woman who is in a relationship with a much older man hooking up with a younger, stronger, and more attractive male. Once again, the older man might or might not be aware. In most Netori cases, the man is forced to watch as his younger woman is having sexual intercourse with a younger man (who isn’t in the relationship).
Another common example involves a younger man who is in a relationship with an older woman. Then the younger man goes out of their relationship and has sexual relations with a younger, sexier woman, who of course isn’t part of their relationship. In both examples, the outsider is doing Netori to the cuckold.
What is the origin of Netori?
Netori is a Japanese term referring to a cuckold. But thanks to the anime section of most adult entertainment websites, the term has somehow found its way into the mainstream lingo. Today, Netori isn’t just a term referring to a cuckold but the whole gaming process of stealing a partner from a cuckold without actually stealing them (if you know what I mean).
What are the benefits of Netori?
There are quite many reasons why Netori can be beneficial. For starters, it’s been known to spruce up a couple’s sex life thus reigniting their love. The latter might not make any sense, especially for us who’ve never tried it (due to lack of opportunities), but it somehow does for those who do it.
Apart from the excitement, Netori has also been known to ease the tension between couples because they don’t have to worry about their younger partner cheating and bringing a lot of drama (and diseases) back at home.
Finally, Netori has also been known to build trust between couples. For instance, if partners can be open about having sex with others, then they can be open about just about everything else. It also brings a lot of ‘flavors’ into the bedroom which is incredibly helpful as far as excitement is concerned.
What are the drawbacks of Netori?
Unfortunately, not every cuckold is as open-minded and that’s why Netori does more harm than good. First, the cuckold may feel unworthy, especially after being forced to sit back and watch as someone else is making love to their partner in ways they couldn’t. the latter may develop into self-esteem issues that may lead to long-term issues such as erectile dysfunction and depression.
Another issue that may come about is none other than feelings. Oh yes, good old feelings. You see, sex is more than just penetration and momentary pleasure. In most cases, the ‘third-wheel will over-perform and that alone will lead to a lot of strain in the relationship. The latter has seen many men start using aphrodisiac enhancers and that also has some undesirable long-term effects.
Another drawback comes in the form of introducing the topic. While others may have an easier time doing so, many always get judged almost immediately as they view Netori as a lack of morality, or even worse, they’ll view you as a sex addict – which isn’t always the case.
What’s the difference between Netori and reverse NTR?
There’s a thin line between Netori and reverse NTR because the definition is the same. The only difference comes with the POV. To clarify things, Netori is where the main character steals their love interest from another person with whom he or she is in a relationship. Reverse NTR, on the other hand, is where the main character has their lover stolen from them by a third party.
