  1. Cloudfront will definitely add latency vs. directly delivering from a host. I suppose some of it is the nature of such a distributed and shared service.

    Equally interesting would be to benchmark CDNs across multiple regional POPs, thats where in average other CDNs will have a lower performance.

    One can agree though, for a premium price (literally pay per request AND transferred byte) one would equally expect premium performance.

    Maybe all these years finally we discovered AWS cash cow…
